Waste Action Champions (WAC)
Zero Waste is a program developed and implemented by Sustainability Leadership Kosova (SLK). The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for young people in Kosovo to understand new economic trends and circular economy.
The program will focus on how plastic, food, textile, glass, and electronic waste can be reused, repurposed, recycled, and reduced.
We will engage participants, through a combined theoretical and interactive activities in order to provide learning on sustainability solutions, helping them acquire new leadership skills, encourage them to adopt systemic thinking, and lastly, enable them to explore ideas of innovative reuse of plastic, glass, textile, food, and technology.
Key direct beneficiaries of this program are youth (aged 18 - 24). Applications from all parts of Kosovo, including different ethnicities, will be encouraged.
2. Waste Action Champions (WAC)
SLK is seeking five prospective candidates (existing waste action champions) to provide training and mentorship for up to 25 participants (five for each candidate).
Key learning topics: Sustainability, Systems Pressures, Transformational Leadership, Change-maker skills, Innovation & Problem Solving, Levels of Impact, Storytelling, and Pitching;
Key waste action topics: Plastic, Glass, Textile, Food, and Technology;
Workshop modules and activities are designed to teach and to facilitate a session focusing on hands-on-practical tasks and assignments. This will enable them to apply their knowledge gained through the workshop.
LO1: Understanding of particular waste problem;
LO2: Knowledge of waste and its social and environmental impacts; and
LO3: Applying their leadership skills in coming with a creative solution;
