ECOVILLE Workshop
Meet our ECOVILLERS! 😎
Thirty energetic children, aged 11-13 from the “Mihal Grameno” elementary school in Fushe Kosove, participated in the very first Ecoville workshop.
After starting the morning with energizers and icebreakers the children were divided into four groups, each guided by a mentor, where they were challenged to express their creativity through the drawing planet earth, while reflecting on the importance of teamwork and how that can correspond with their co-joined role of protecting and bettering the future of the planet.
Later on the day, we were honored by the visit of Ms.Dora Musa, from the Presidency Office who came to observe and work closely with some of the group works.
During the lectures the students got to learn more about climate changes, global warming, human’s impact on the environment, and it was concluded with a session on ecosystems and biodiversity.
These sessions were a combination of educational lectures, conversations with students, art, and games.
The next part of the workshop will be held in nature facilitated by Faruk Foniqi, a Geography Information System (GIS) expert. This session will aim on activating engagement in the analysis of local forests through the drone. Gathering important information and identifying the area within the school for a green area plantation in the near future, as well as identifying the species that promote the population of the area with animals, birds and insects.
This workshop was made possible through the cooperation and funding of the Presidency Office, which will continue to support these kids in their futures as environmental changemakers, along with the SLK team.
